This sauce can be doubled and reheated as needed to use as an ice cream sauce, pie topping, apple dip, or whatever you see as necessary.
Ingredients:
½ cup brown sugar, packed
¼ cup heavy cream or half and half
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
¼ tsp. salt
Combine the brown sugar, heavy cream, and unsalted butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Whisk frequently for about 5 minutes at a simmer or until it begins to thicken. Make sure all the sugar granules have dissolved and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in salt until well combined.
Allow to cool and then transfer to a mason jar and store in the fridge.
