I didn’t learn to appreciate tea until I was in my 20’s. My daughter has been drinking a heavily milky sugary version since she was about 5. We share a pot most mornings, but every now and then we’ll have a special slightly fancier version where we break out the tiered plate stand and work our way up from crustless sandwiches to the good stuff at the top.
My daughter isn’t a big fan of the cucumber and tuna salad sandwiches we used in the version, so we’ll stick with ham and cheese and jelly and cream cheese next time. It’s more fun if the menu isn’t set to be the same for us.
This time we decided to include some sugar cookies we made with royal icing for the first time. We very much enjoyed the pretty look the royal icing gave the cookies, which we’d normally decorate with buttercream and a knife.
Whatever is on your tea party menu, enjoy the sips, the company, and have a little bite of everything!
