Having moved from a house that was half the size as this one, I didn’t really understand the concept of this room or what to do with it. I knew I didn’t want it to be an office because it would be my office, and I’m too big of a work slob to have an office at the front of my home and without a door to hide my mess.
The above is the “Before” from the real estate listing at the time we purchased the home. The space had been used as an office and did look much neater than I would be able to keep it.
We decided for us it would be a comfortable little room for quiet chatting, reading, napping, and “getting away” from it all.
This room has been a work in progress for us as we figure out how we use the space. For now we added a spinning “snuggle” chair at the front window, which is my daughters favorite place to read and watch videos. We relocated a pendant fixture here when it didn’t work at our kitchenette and our comfiest sofa for napping lives here too.
